Chicken Pot Pie

I learned how to make this when I was in Romania.  It's was a pretty big recipe for the two of us, but we had barely enough when I made it for my brother(16) and dad..who went back for seconds..because it is SO good..meaning you might have to double it.

Ingredients:
½ cup butter
⅓ cup flour
1 ¾ cup water
4-5 chicken cubes
½ tsp. salt
⅔ cup milk
1 TBS diced onion
¼ tsp. pepper
½ cup powdered chicken gravy
2 cups grilled (can cook-we just like the grilled flavor more)
peas, corn, beans, ect. (basically any vegetables you want in your pie!

Directions:
melt ½ cup butter in large saucepan

add in flour and stir together to form a paste

then add water, chicken cubes, salt, milk, onion, pepper and powdered gravy and cook until thickens (2-3 minutes)

Add in chicken and vegetables (if sauce is too thick for liking, add milk)

The crust:
2 ¼ cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup oil
¼ cup +2 TBS water

This is not the best crust, but it sure is an easy one and gets the job done:)

So personally-I don't make a bottom crust (the picture has a bottom crust, but I like to be able to have more of the mixture than the crust!).  Pour the mixture into a pie tin or any oven safe pan and top with the crust (as you can see from my picture..we didn't care how pretty it looked!)

Back at 390 for 40-60 minutes (watch crust-I usually cover it with foil halfway through cooking)

Let sit for a little bit and holy cow!! Enjoy!!
