DIY Apple Banners

I love Fall. The leaves, the crisp air, the cardigans. Everything about this season is perfect.
My husband and I moved to San Francisco a few months ago, and Fall is a little different out here. It's a lot warmer than our frigid summer, and it's basically sweater weather all year long so that doesn't change either. BUT. I can still enjoy the apples and pumpkins.
I came across this idea a few weeks ago, and figured out how to replicate it. It was SUPER easy, so I want to share it with you guys!

Here's what you'll need:
Burlap, green and red acrylic paint, a sponge brush, an apple, any kind of string, clothespins, a sharpie.

 1. Cut your burlap into small rectangles. Just size it on what you like, and what you think looks good (it's your banner after all!). I cut 9 rectangles.
2. Cut your apple in half. Paint one half red and stamp half of the rectangles (it doesn't need to be perfect!). Do the same with the other half of the apple, but with the green paint. Let dry.
3. With the sharpie, add stems and seeds to the apples. It's amazing the difference this will make.
4. Hang the string on your wall and clip the burlap rectangles to the string with the clothespins.
It fits perfectly in my little studio apartment. It's quick and easy to make, and is a great way to get in autumn mood.

(Don't want to use plain clothespins? Check out my post here from last week on how to spruce them up real quick!)
