Working out during The Holidays

As I am sitting here writing this post, I have a plate of Christmas Cookie crumbs next to me on the desk - eaten entirely by yours truly- and the "Michael Buble Christmas" station on Pandora playing in the background.  Christmas is in full swing here at our house.  Even Penelope's getting into the spirit by unwrapping her Christmas presents early.  She's a "roller" these days; she rolled right underneath the Christmas tree to find her presents, atta girl.

With Christmas in full swing i'd thought i'd share a couple workout sets I like to do during the week.

See the correlation between christmas & workouts?
No?... reread the first sentence of this post.
Okay, we on the same page now?

This time of year many delicious treats magically appear on my front door step (thanks neighbors!).  I find I need to make working-out pretty brainless or else it doesn't happen.  By brainless, I mean I need to have a clear plan of what workout i'm going to do for the day or else I take forEVER to decided and my workout becomes less productive.

I try and do weight training 3 times a week and cardio 2 times a week.  Usually for cardio I go running (5k's seem to be my sweet spot) and for my weight training I like to work-out in my living room.
These simple workouts are for any type of athlete.  Increase the reps if you are a little more seasoned with working out or set a goal to complete the workout set once if its been a while since you worked out.
I would like to work out for an hour every day, but that dosen't happen, so I aim for 30-40 minutes, and then a warm up and cool down.

Somedays I figure something's better then nothing.

This post come as a request from a couple friends that want simple workouts to do during the day. No fancy equipment,  dvd's to mess with etc or gym memberships...  all you need is your body weight (and some  hand weights if you're into that kind of thing - I use 3 lbs.)

I am in no way a professional, but I have found a couple things that work for me that i'd like to share.

Here are 3 workouts i'm really liking right now.

Also, I find it much easier to workout when I have some tunes to rep in beat with.  When I was working out with my mom last week (she came to visit me!) we found out we really like the "Hits 2011 Workout."  Its free if you have an Amazon Prime account.  Be sure to download the free Amazon Music App that goes along with the account.

I also find the best time for me to work out is in the morning after I put Penelope down for her morning nap.  When I wake up, I immediately put my workout out clothes on (politely reminding myself that I am going to work out today ;)  I find that getting my workout clothes on is 80% of the battle.

Often I look like this when I put P down for her morning nap.

What is your favorite way to work out?
